The Home Stretch… and Our First Christmas at Nell’s 🎄✨

Well, it’s been a little while since my last blog, and goodness me, so much has happened!

September has been a real whirlwind for our family, with plenty of excitement, a fair bit of exhaustion, and, unfortunately, a rather nasty dose of D&V thrown into the mix! Apparently the boys decided that sharing was caring and kindly passed it on to me… and let me tell you, at my age, I do not bounce back quite as quickly as I used to!😂

So, for a whole week, I didn’t even make it into the shop. Not exactly what I had planned!

But thankfully, we’re all back into our routines now.

One of our daughters has started primary school and is doing exceptionally well, which has made us incredibly proud. Another has started high school and, although she is absolutely exhausted, she is loving it and doing brilliantly — she already has 20 merits in the bag! 🎉

The boys have settled back into their routines too, and somehow amongst all the school runs, family life and general chaos, the shop has continued to move forward.

And we are now getting SO close…

We’re on the home stretch! 🏡

Our lovely Tom has been busy making things for the shop, and we now have a beautiful checkout counter that he lovingly made himself, as well as a new kitchen door.

There is something so special about watching this little shop gradually become ours. Every little job, every coat of paint, every piece of furniture and every delivery is bringing us closer to opening the doors.

Our little storeroom is also starting to fill up with stock, which is both incredibly exciting and slightly terrifying! 😂

Our sales system is kind of up and running too…

And by "kind of", I mean it takes payments, which feels like a huge achievement, but I now have to work out how on earth to connect our website to the POS system!

Technology really isn't our strongest talent in this household. 😆

If anyone has any simple advice for connecting a Squarespace website to a POS system so that our stock levels stay up to date, please send help!🙈

Welcome to our new Framlingham neighbours ❤️

One of the loveliest things about opening a shop in Framlingham has been meeting the people around us.

This week we had the absolute pleasure of meeting our lovely neighbours at Ellen Ross Hair Salon, just next door but one. What a lovely couple, and it was so nice to have a proper chat and get to know some of the people who will be part of our little community.

We also met a lovely couple who have just opened their very first bookshop, The Four Fables.

And honestly, this is exactly what we hoped for when we signed the lease.

Framlingham really is becoming a thriving little hub of exciting, independent businesses — people taking a leap, following their dreams and creating something of their own.

And we feel incredibly lucky to be joining them.

So please, come and support your local independents. Behind every little shop is someone who has taken a risk, worked incredibly hard and dared to believe that their dream might just work. ❤️

And then there’s CHRISTMAS! 🎄

I know… it feels far too early to be talking about Christmas.

But anyone who knows me and Tom knows that we are huge Christmas fans!

So the thought of celebrating our very first Christmas inside Nell’s Farmhouse Interiors is making us ridiculously excited.

I can already picture the shop filled with beautiful Christmas pieces, twinkling lights, cosy farmhouse details and all the things that make this time of year feel so magical.

It really is going to be a very special Christmas for us.

Our Grand Opening 🎉

We've made the decision to hold our launch towards the end of October, rather than rushing everything, especially with family life and half term to juggle.

And we have some lovely things planned.

On the Friday evening, we will be holding an invite-only preview evening for a special group of guests.

Then, on the Saturday, we will officially open our doors for our Grand Opening!

There will be prosecco flowing, lots of excitement, and we have a few little surprises planned too. 🥂

And the following 25 customers will receive a 15% off voucher to use on their next purchase.

We really want our opening weekend to feel like a celebration — not just of Nell’s Farmhouse Interiors, but of finally becoming part of the wonderful Framlingham community.

We are so excited about what Nell’s Farmhouse Interiors is becoming.

What started as an idea has turned into a website, then a shop, and now a little independent business that is becoming part of a wonderful community.

There is still plenty to do.

There will undoubtedly be more chaos.

There will probably be more technology-related tears. 😂

But we're nearly there.

The home stretch is here.

And we absolutely cannot wait to open those doors and welcome you in.
